OsteoStrong Opens On College Road In Wilmington

By Emma Dill, posted Feb 28, 2024
OsteoStrong, a franchise that aims to strengthen its clients’ bones, has opened its doors on College Road in Wilmington.

The company’s newest location opened earlier this year in an approximately 2,400-square-foot space at 814 College Road, Suite D. The Houston-headquartered franchise, which launched in 2012, guides clients through a series of movements on floor equipment to strengthen their skeletal systems.

Franchise owner Candace Vivian said she first became interested in OsteoStrong while living in Sedona, Arizona when she became friends with the owner of an OsteoStrong studio. Once relocating to Wilmington, Vivian decided the business would be a good fit for the area.

After securing a franchise license, Vivian spent the last year bringing OsteoStrong to Wilmington. The business held a soft opening in December and officially opened to customers in late January, Vivian said.

Vivian said while many people don’t start thinking about their bone health until they start to age, the business aims to provide strengthening for all ages and fitness levels from high school athletes to seniors.

“We want to be a prevention for people,” she said.

A monthly membership-based service, OsteoStrong provides clients with roughly 10-minute sessions on specialized floor machines, which are called spectrum equipment.

“OsteoStrong utilizes a revolutionary technique called osteogenic loading to promote skeletal strength,” a news release from the company states.

“By engaging in a series of movements on robotic musculoskeletal treatment devices, customers experience axial compression of bone, resulting in a stronger skeletal system and increased bone mass.”

In addition to the machines, OsteoStrong offers the use of vibration plates, red light therapy, hydromassage beds, compression therapy, PEMI Mats and Wilmington’s only biocharger, Vivian said.

So far, Vivian said the business has seen steady traffic and a “great response” from the community. OsteoStrong has locations throughout the U.S. and in Canada, Australia and several European countries. The nearest locations to Wilmington are in the Raleigh area.
